FAMILY LAW
Grandparents
The Family Law Act allows grandparents and other relatives of the child the right to commence proceedings for orders to maintain contact with the children.
The Family Law Act recognises the importance of the roles that other persons play in the child’s upbringing.
Consequently, grandparents have the ability to negotiate and seek orders for ongoing contact with the children, provided this is in their best interests.
We are able to provide more detailed advices and assist in negotiating an appropriate agreement that suits your particular circumstances and is designed for you to continue to see your grandchildren.
